I am a self-taught quilter who discovered quilting in 1997.  My formal education was in organic chemistry and biochemistry, and it was a life changing discovery that I could combine my long-time pursuit of chemistry and sewing to dye fabrics and piece those hand-dyed fabrics into art quilts.  I use improvisational curved piecing construction techniques to create abstract designs based on shapes from the natural world.  Both piecing and quilting are done by machine.
