Many of my compositions are based on photos or scenes in nature.
I am especially interested in creating illusions of light. shadows, reflections, the warmth or coolness of different light sources.
I may use fabric, thread, ink or paint to create the effects I’m looking for. I use quilting stitches as I would use a pencil, to draw in fine detail.
The images that find their way into my quilts are ordinary objects that have the potential to be magical, charming or inspiring.
My goal as an artist is to express myself in a way that adds beauty to the world.
